So you may be wondering how to run/schedule Zoom meetings!
You can schedule Zoom meetings from within the desktop/mobile app, on illinois.zoom.us, or by Chrome Extension. Since many of you will be scheduling many meetings, I would highly recommend the Chrome Extension, which lets you set Zoom meetings from within Google Calendar. (There is also a Firefox Extension too!)
Install the following Chrome Extension:
From there, navigate to creating a new calendar invite and you should see a button to "Make it a Zoom Meeting." (You can do this from within the extended calendar invite or from the quick add.)
You might be prompted to sign into Google — from here, choose SSO and manually enter the company domain for illinois.zoom.us. (You also need to re-authenticate yourself from time to time if you haven't used the extension in a while.)
Once you enter in your info, there might be a popup above your calendar event prompting you for additional details. Feel free to change any or click continue.
And there you should have it! A Zoom link for your event! A benefit too of having the Chrome extension is that now all of your Zoom events (whether you made them or not) will have a "Join Zoom Meeting" button too.
Note: Google is annoying sometimes and might create a Google Meet on top of your already existing Zoom event so make sure that that option deleted, because it gets confusing for users.
OR you can change your default Google Calendar settings so that Google Meet is not your default video conferencing platform using the directions in this link:
