  1. Your team dynamic (standards, behaviors, etc) is set in the beginning. It starts with you. Pay attention to the small things - the trivial or perhaps innocuous actions. Your team members will notice and will follow. Team Culture & Dynamic

  2. Attack issues respectfully before they devolve into bad habits. Be confrontational when needed and address them as early as possible. Keep your team and your partner accountable. Accountability

  3. Giving and receiving feedback helps everyone involved when done right and promptly. Praise and give appreciation. Effective Feedback

  4. Plan a social event with your team in the first couple weeks. This boosts team bonding tremendously.

  5. Communicate. Often. Frequently. You may realize that at every section of this Handbook has something on communication. It's because its important! ‣

  6. Beware of your project scope. Most leads over-scope. Instead, promise less, and exceed expectations. You'd rather make a bomb-ass product with less features than a half-finished/hastily done product. Do not promise any additional features after the PRD.

  7. **Social Loafing.** When team members reduce their effort because they feel less responsible for the output.

  8. Having all the answers is not the goal. Motivating the team to find the answers is the goal.
